Project title, “Ocean expedition”
Growing up in New Mexico I was a bug kid who loved to collect every bug and worm I could find. When I moved to California near the ocean, I instantly fell in love with all marine invertebrates, and this love has fueled my pursuit of a Marine Biology degree along with my research projects. I’m also a swimmer and was a USA Competitive Swimmer from when I was six to the start of Covid. I really enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and hiking.
My past research projects span from intertidal invertebrate distribution along Alaskan glacial gradients to prairie research on grasshoppers and prairie grass interactions and environmental stressors. I have traveled from Alaska, California, and Wisconsin to follow my research passions and learn more about invertebrates. Besides that, I hope to combine my environmental knowledge with forensic science pursuits and shorten the gap between these fields. I currently reside in Juneau, Alaska at the University of Alaska Southeast where I am set to graduate with my bachelor's in May 2023.
