Training Opportunities:

Undergraduates*:

Research Courses: The Navarro Lab has one opening for a 2-credit BIOL S398 or S498 course for a qualified scholar over the Spring Semester 2025. Interested scholars should provide a brief description of a potential project on a topic relevant to the Navarro lab, a resume or curriculum vitae, and two professional references to Dr. Navarro via email.

Coming 2025 AAUS Dive Course: Students interested in underwater research can be certified as a science diver with the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS). Required pre-requisite dive training to enroll include Open Water, Drysuit, Advanced, Rescue, CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Provider certifications.

Graduate Students*: The Navarro Lab is looking for funded scholars starting in AY 2025-26. Prospective students should have an undergraduate degree in a related science field and have funding to support their graduate programming. Please see the University of Alaska Fairbanks, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) website for application instructions including submission deadlines (link below). Through collaboration with CFOS there are graduate school opportunities at both the master’s and doctorate levels.
